RULES FOR WEALTH BUILDING
FINANCIAL SECURITY FIRST
For me, building wealth was not a matter of becoming rich, because I stopped short of what I would consider "Rich." What I wanted was financial security, enough saved and invested so that I wound not HAVE to work. It is a tremendous relief knowing that if you become unemployed that you can easily survive. Or better yet, have the flexibility to pursue your dreams.
My dream, from the time I entered the Academy, was to retire by age 30, then devote my life to helping people. It actually took until age 34, due to my last relationship at the time, and family obligations.
THE STEEP CURVE OF INVESTMENT GROWTH & WEALTH
The Wealth Curve can be very steep in your favor, but it totally depends on you starting to save and invest as soon as possible, like when you are 16 years old or younger. Saving $1 a week as a child is a great start.
Let us say that all you could afford to save and invest was $12.50 a
What To Look For In A Mate
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A MATE
Many people construct a real or virtual check-off LIST of criteria that a potential mate must passa list based on what they believe they want and need from a mate in their life. But such lists seldom put the issues in the correct context. A trait that might be really bad in one man, could be good thing in another man. Dating criteria tend to be too rigid and heavy handed. There are things you would reject a man for that might be potentially good for you to have in your life that you are not yet aware of. There are a few thing about my partner I though were negatives, but turned out to be positive things, and something I thought to be a good thing that turned into a not so good thing.
Ideally, there should be a short list of critical issues. This is mine:
Is he a man who wants to do things for me to make me happy, a guy who will cherish me?
Is he a man who is open and honest about h
What Is Love All About?
As Time Is Eternal, So Is My Love
The word Love is used in many, many different ways. When my first boyfriend asked me if I loved him, I could not honestly answer him, which hurt him. I tried to explain that I did not know exactly what love meant yet, so please give me time to figure it out. I am Autistic. In Autism, when you are young, you are a prisoner inside of yourself. Love depends on connection and sharing, but Autism isolates you from these things. I had no real role models for love, as my family was not that way. I then went on a journey to find out what love was, and how I would know if I was in-love.
I asked everyone I knew about love, about how they knew if they were in-love. Most answers were something like, "If its Love, you just know." Well, I didn't know if I was in-love with my boyfriend, but I thought I should be, surely I must be? I looked at every person, every living thing, and every object
Love does not fall on an untouched heart
Or seed in a garden chaste.
Until it once has been plowed apart
The heart is a desert waste.
So raze and trample the virgin turf.
To every blade and blow
Offer the rich but unmixed earth
So love will grow.
