This Tutorial uses Clipping Groups, Layer Styles, and two types of Gradients to give Text a Forged Chromium Steel look, as well Indented Drilled Holes. Maybe someone will make a Photoshop Style from this.

The Zip file contains:
Forged Steel Tutorial.pdf . . PDF Instructions, step-by-step with screen shots.
Forged Steel.psd . . . . . . . . Completed file (6 layers).
Arial . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Font file (just in case you don't have it.
Drilled Hole . . . . . . . . . . . . Photoshop Gradient file, if you want to cheat and take a short cut.

EDIT: Finally got around to updating the Instructions to show current menu locations. This tutorial dates back to 1999, so the screenshots will look a little different than what you will see in Photoshop now.

Thank you. A very good tool in Photoshop is Displacement Maps. If you do not know how to use them, this Tutorial might help: [link]
